Shift: Shift 2

Summary:
Moves patients and hospital equipment including but not limited to oxygen tanks specimens and hospital beds throughout Froedtert Hospital. Maintains obstruction-free corridors and disinfects hospital equipment per regulations. May be required to monitor designated entrances provide directions to patients and family members access hospital systems and answer telephones to provide general information to staff and patients. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
Six months to one year of customer service experience is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Other information:
Ability to receive and convey non-medical information. Must possess good public relations and communication skills. Must be able to interact well with the general public and be able to make sound judgments in a variety of situations. Must possess basic telephone and computer skills. Ability to use hospital software to obtain information is required for staff monitoring entrances.

Our health network operates eastern Wisconsin's only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma Center at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, an internationally recognized training and research center engaged in thousands of clinical trials and studies. The Froedtert & MCW health network, which includes five hospitals, one of which is a nationally ranked academic medical center, more than 1,700 physicians and nearly 40 health centers and clinics, draws patients from throughout the Midwest and the nation. In our most recent fiscal year, outpatient visits exceeded 1.1 million, inpatient admissions to our hospitals were 52,483 and visits to our network physicians totaled 979,143.

In addition to Froedtert Hospital, the network includes Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls; and St. Joseph’s Hospital, West Bend. The health network represents the collaboration of Wisconsin’s largest multispecialty physician practice with two community-based physician groups. In October 2017, an existing affiliation with the former United Hospital System was expanded to include its Kenosha Medical Center, St. Catherine’s Medical Center and related clinics in the network.

Froedtert Hospital

Froedtert Hospital, the primary adult teaching affiliate for the Medical College of Wisconsin, is a 604-bed academic medical center that delivers advanced medical care. Froedtert Hospital is nationally recognized for exceptional physicians and nurses, research leadership, specialty expertise and state-of-the-art treatments and technology. It serves as an eastern Wisconsin referral center for advanced medical practice care in 37 specialties and is a major training facility with more than 1,000 medical, nursing and health technical students in training. 

In partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin, it is also a respected research facility with more than 2,000 research studies, including clinical trials, conducted every year. Froedtert Hospital operates the region’s only adult Level I Trauma Center. Froedtert Hospital is located on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus.
