Job Description

Position Title: Quality Technician

Reports to: Quality Engineer

Shift: Nights

Location: Maryville, TN

Job Summary: Uphold companies Best in Class Quality standards by ensuring all parts, components and finished goods are inspected and meet company standards.

Job Duties:

Perform in process checks and finished goods audits on all processes.
Complete first piece approvals of all documentation, parts and goods required to produce the finished product.
Verify that documentation packages are correct prior to release to manufacturing.
Assist manufacturing in retrieving documents from the intranet.
Enter results of daily activity into various computer databases.
Email daily reports communicating daily issues.
Participate in problem solving sessions as required.
Periodically audit finished goods in the Distribution Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of basic computer operations and extensive knowledge in Excel.
Ability to differentiate subtle variances in color.
Ability to generate coherent reports on findings of test and audits.
Leadership skills with a positive attitude towards safety.
Multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.
Must pass a basic math test.
Must have strong diplomacy skills.
Housekeeping skills.
Presentation skills.

Flexible to work any shift.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to read, follow, and understand verbal and written instruction and possess problem solving skills.
Visual aptitude must be able to see with or without correction and differentiate subtle variances in color.
Communication ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
Ability to perform standing job for 12 consecutive hours.
Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12 hour period.
High School Diploma or GED.

PEREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiar with basic test and measuring equipment is a plus.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings is a plus.
Experience in a Quality Assurance role.
Mechanical aptitude with forklift experience.
Previous manufacturing experience.
Tennessee Career Readiness Certificate Silver Level required (external candidates) / preferred (internal candidates)
