Ours is a new, high impact, highly visible and fast paced team which is tasked to bolster Azure Buildout investments.

Responsibilities:

Work with core Azure Service teams (like Compute, Networking, Storage, and others) to research, identify, architect, co-develop and deliver solutions to overcome hurdles coming in the way of expanding to new regions or enabling new region designs.

Build infrastructure and tooling for Azure Buildout acceleration and automation.

Collaborate on the design of the overall service with a strong preference towards service readiness for new region types and region architectures.

Help deliver product innovation, including co-development approach with other Microsoft clouds, support, and customer experience teams.

Drive towards project goals and deliverables and mentor your peers along the way.

Required Qualifications:

* 6+ years industry software engineering experience in object-oriented programming using C, Java, C++ or other object oriented language
* Industry experience building distributed applications or services used at scale on Azure or other cloud providers

Preferred Qualifications:

* BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* Have great design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for quality and engineering excellence
* Experience with Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code
* Demonstrated ability to communicate business and technical ideas to varied audiences across disciplines, including peer engineers, product managers and management.
* Experience with designing, developing, and operating internet-scale services.
* Experience with web scripting (JavaScript/Typescript/NodeJS) and Query languages (SQL).
* Prior experience building platform services that scale to work on petabytes of data.
* Passion for debugging and optimizing code and automating routine tasks.

These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
