About the AI Acceleration team

The mission of the AI Acceleration (AIX) team is to increase the volume and velocity of AI applications at the JPMorgan Chase. To achieve this were building a team that blends JPMCs financial domain experts with engineering and product leaders that have shipped AI products at leading technology companies in Silicon Valley.

About the role

The AIX team is seeking an Executive Director to lead their Platform Emerging Technology team that supports JPMCs AI Platform. The mission of the Emerging Technology team is to blend years of software engineering expertise with some of the newest and most cutting edge AI tools, frameworks and methodologies to deliver cutting edge capabilities for JPMC.

Responsibilities

Define and continuously update the AI/ML platform capability strategy

Evaluate market and technology trends, key providers, legal/regulatory climate, product positioning, and pricing philosophy.

Accountable for creating and implementing a full business case for new and existing developed AI Services and initiatives.

Lead high performing software engineering and ML teams to deliver value-add solutions for the AI Platform

Establish relationships with Universities and technical communities to build a pipeline of diverse ideas and partnership opportunities

File intellectual property

Publish white papers

Qualifications

A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field

15+ years relevant work experience and 7+ years of people management

Expertise in professional software engineering practices and machine learning

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python

Expertise in in engagement with the open source and academic community

Deep experience developing successful AI-based solutions to business problems

Proven track record of solving ambiguous and complex problems

Exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide and senior audience, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analysis

Preferred qualifications

Masters degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience working in highly-regulated industries
