Summary: The HVAC Plumbing Piping Mechanical Estimator analyzes a project before it starts, accurately estimating costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and value engineering opportunities. Daily operations include researching projects, developing reports on materials and crew requirements, and analyzing potential projects' bidding processes. This position also requires employees to build effective relationships with sub-contractors and partners.

Responsibilities Include:
Duct and piping take-off and pricing
Vendor and subcontractor pricing
Updating estimating software database items including labor rates and material costs
Coordinating bids with Project Engineers
Writing proposal letters
Filling out bid forms
Maintaining historical bid information database
Identifying value engineering options
Cost budgeting for design-build projects
Assisting with system selection options
Communicates with Operations and Project Managers regarding estimates and designs
Meets scheduled deadlines
Coordinates with drafting and detailing departments on drawings
Provides technical support to Project Managers and Project Engineers
Presenting estimate to company executives at bid review meetings
Negotiating pricing with subcontractors and vendors
Attending offsite job walks as scheduled by General Contractors

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
5+ years experience estimating mechanical projects
Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical codes
Negotiating skills
Strategic thinking
Proficient on MS Office Suite
Quotesoft and Bluebeam experience a plus
