Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a highly engaged, team-oriented individual with a working background in computer aided drafting principles. This role creates and updates drawings used in electrical construction packages (i.e. single lines, wiring diagrams, plan drawingsetc.). The position works directly with other department personnel as needed to clarify intent of designer and/or engineer sketches. This role maintains supplemental project documentation, including cable schedules and vendor cut sheets. This position may require occasional site visits and other related tasks to meet project needs. This position reports to a Supervisor of Design and Documentation and functions as an intermediate-level draftsman for the electrical design group.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and employ personal safety practices at all times.
Become familiar with and employ environmental compliance at all times.
Prepare electrical drawings in support of power generation engineering projects per corporate standards
General electrical design support for the power generation fleet (i.e. equipment, cable/raceway, and drawing
number support)
Maintain drawing records per corporate and compliance policies
Coordinate site visits and perform field work as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relative experience in the power generation industry desired
Thorough knowledge of drafting principles
Demonstrated MicroStation and/or AutoCAD proficiency
Proficiency in drawing and document management systems (ProjectWise & Documentum preferred)
Well-developed and effective interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment as a fully engaged and supporting team member
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to manage project workloads with minimal direction
Ability to adapt to changes in project scope and schedules

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or more rounds to one full year of qualifications.
The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined.

Education Requirements

Required: High School diploma or GED

Preferred: Bachelors/Associate degree in a technology related discipline
