This is an exciting opportunity in Mineral Points, Wisconsin for a 1st Shift Quality Technician-HOURLY.

Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Ensures products received or produced meet technical specifications. Works under moderate supervision.

Verifies the final quality of products on the production line.

Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.

Separates products that do not have the desired technical specification, using basic and/or complex measurement techniques and equipment.

Documents products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems.

Trains others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming product and documentation.

Follows the norms and standards of quality defined by the Company.

Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, Metrology e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.

Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.

Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. Layered Process Audit inspection, test, audit) to ensure quality of Cummins products and processes.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

Additional

Perform tensile tests, pushout tests, and torque tests per engineering standards. Update tracker to track completion.

Observe test results and determine conformance. Maintain control charts for the tests conducted.

Record, organize and file traceability sheets and Quality Inspection Cards

Train operators to perform testing needed (air-test, pushout test, tensile test etc.)

Report test results to the cross functional Team

Use the CMM and the Amada laser scanner for special projects

Help with resolution of internal quality issues

Back up Romer as needed.

Promote quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.

Create/update work instructions in QSI and Ease

Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
