Schwab Charitable was founded by Charles Schwab & Co. and while it operates as an independent charity, it is closely affiliated with and enjoys the support of Charles Schwab & Co, including contractual agreements to provide a variety of services. This position will be an employee of Charles Schwab & Co. and will be subject to its human resources and risk policies and procedures, but will report to and be accountable to Schwab Charitable for day-to-day activities.

Schwab Charitable Fund, an independent non-profit has approximately $22 Billion in assets under management (AUM) and is one of the nations largest national donor-advised funds. Under the direction of the Managing Director Finance, the Sr. Specialist Business Intelligence helps support the information delivery and analysis needs of the organization. We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual with strong business intelligence and data analysis skills and a natural inclination for attending to details. The Sr. Specialist Business Intelligence will create and analyze routine reports, respond to ad-hoc data requests, and work with the Finance and Business Intelligence team to shape the future of analysis at Schwab Charitable.

What you are good at

* Develop and deploy business intelligence solutions using tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Excel and Power BI, and Crystal Reports
* Create, schedule, and maintain a variety of reports using multiple different data sources such as Oracle databases, Teradata warehouses, and Hadoop clusters
* Respond to ad-hoc data requests with on the fly database queries using SQL
* Extract useful information and analytical insights from data and work with Charitables Finance and Business Intelligence team to provide recommendations to senior management
* Assist in moving our reporting platform forward from reactive data pulls and strictly structured reports to a flexible, proactive, self-service information delivery service
* Apply strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail in solving problems
* Become a valued thought partner
* Work reciprocally and build strong relationships with business partners

What you have

* Strong analytical skills with a natural tendency to derive insights from data, sport issues with data, and the resourcefulness to find solutions and overcome barriers
* Ability to explain complicated information to both technical and non-technical partners
* A minimum of 3 or more years of related experience in business intelligence and the development of automated reports, dashboards, self-service tools, SQL, OLAP, etc.
* A solid understanding of relational databases and architecture
* Ability to form relationships with, and provide thought leadership with a wide range of business partners across business functions and levels including Senior Management
* Brokerage and/or financial services industry experience is a plus
* Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Finance or related field
