Description
Integrated Drivetrain (IDT) is looking for an Electric Drivetrain Support Engineer that will be part of the IDT Electrification Strategy Team that is accountable for developing modular, scalable electric drivetrain system platforms for xEV (diesel-electric, hybrid, battery, fuel cell) applications as we work with our Machine Business Division partners across the CI and RI product lines to define the enterprise strategy for electrification. This will include developing and evaluating drivetrain architecture concepts, executing system evaluations and optimizations through simulation, and completing trade-off assessments on attributes such as performance, energy efficiency, customer Total Cost of Ownership, and R&D timeline / investment. The candidate will work with and across Machine Business Divisions to define system requirements based on Voice of Customer, Voice of Business, and Voice of Regulation and identify nodes of opportunity for leveraged system and component development.
This position is part of an Electrification Upskilling initiative, and candidates with the following experience will be considered:
Electric or mechanical drivetrain systems (design or simulation)
Motor / generator systems (design or simulation)
Power electronics / power conversion systems and controls (design or simulation)
Hydraulic system (design or simulation)
Machine or systems controls
Machine integration, performance or simulation
Basic Qualifications
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
5+ years of product development experience (NPI, NTI, CPI) in machine or system area
Experience in performance and simulation
Ability to think beyond incremental design
Top Candidates will also have
Ability to engage with technical experts on challenging projects in a dynamic environment
5+ years of experience in machine performance / simulation, power electronics, electric machine design; or electric drive systems design, modeling and/or simulation
Machine systems and application experience

The location for this position is East Peoria, IL

This position may require up to 10% travel
