Job Summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a QC Scientist for QC Microbiology at the Cell Therapy Facility (CTF) in Devens, MA. The QC Scientist is responsible for supporting QC microbiology testing for release of clinical and commercial products and environmental monitoring. This includes the ability to interface with multiple groups, the ability to independently perform tasks, interpret results, and troubleshoot. Additionally, the QC Scientist will lead training and assay transfer. The QC Scientist role is stationed in Devens, MA and reports to the Head of Micro Operations for the Devens CTF.

Job Responsibilities

* Subject Matter Expert for environmental monitoring and clean utility qualification activities.
* Lead team members through lab and facility start-up activities.
* Use scientific principles to assist in microbiological testing and the proper use of laboratory equipment.
* Anticipate and troubleshoot problems.
* Subject Matter Expert for training new analysts to general job duties.
* Ability to train QC personnel and complete necessary training to become a qualified trainer.
* Draft and review technical documents such as SOPs, protocols/reports, and risk assessments.
* Own and evaluate relevant change controls, investigations, deviations, CAPAs.
* Lead complex projects and continuous improvement efforts.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Support for QC and manufacturing operations may include shift coverage consisting of on call, shift, and/or weekend coverage.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

* Bachelors degree required, preferably in Science.
* 6+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
* Previous experience in supervising or team management and the ability to lead a team through facility start-up activities preferred.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
* Advanced experience working in clean room environments and with cell therapy products preferred.
* Advanced hands on experience with various microbiology techniques and environmental monitoring.
* Advanced ability to accurately and completely understand, follow, interpret and apply Global Regulatory and cGMP requirements.
* Advanced technical writing skills.
* Advanced problem-solving ability/mentality, technically adept and logical.
* Ability to represent the interests of the group on cross-functional teams.
* Ability to set priorities of the group and manage timelines.
* Ability to work with management locally and globally.
* Advanced ability to communicate effectively with peers, department management and cross- functional peers.
* Working knowledge of LIMS
