Data Scientist, Mid

The Challenge:

We have an opportunity for you to use your analytical skills to help find and mitigate financial risk for a government client. Youll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their questions and needs and understand the existing models in production. You will help identify new data fields and identify which fields are no longer useful. You will identify areas where the existing models are not accurate, and youll help build and maintain new predictive models to find fraud, identify theft, and other non-compliant activity. You will work with team members to promote the models into a production environment and work with the client to help them understand the models' results. You Have:

* 4+ years of experience in a data science or data analytics role
* 4+ years of experience with a data science language or application, including Python, R, or SAS
* 3+ years of experience with supervised machine learning techniques, including neural networks, decision trees, logistic regression, and using appropriate measures such as ROC curves to determine the accuracy of the models
* 2+ years of experience with preparing actual client data for models, including merging and aggregating data, handling anomalies, balancing, and feature selection
* 2+ years of experience with using SQL to analyze data stored in a relational database
* Knowledge of statistics, sampling, and including common pitfalls in modeling and data analysis
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

* Experience with graph analytics, link analysis or network analysis, including directly their use in the fraud detection, law enforcement or intelligence fields
* Experience with predictive modeling around fraud, risk, or rare events
* Experience with SAS Enterprise Miner
* Knowledge of procedural SQL language, such as PL/SQL or PL/pgSQL
* Ability to present work using non-technical terms
