Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Commercial Derivative Aircraft team in San Antonio, TX. You will provide hands-on Production Engineering support to the Boeing VC-25B Program to modify two 747-8 airplanes for the presidential fleet. You will be working with a highly skilled team of Manufacturing Engineering, Product Review Engineering, Tool Engineering, and Industrial Engineering personnel to develop real time solutions to complex aircraft assembly issues.
Position Responsibilities: to include but limited to
* Build plan creation for removal/installation/rework jobs supporting aircraft modification and maintenance planning.
* Review and approve Detail Part and/or Assembly engineering drawings for producibility using CATIA, IVT, and ENOVIA as needed. Upon engineering drawing release, migrate Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) parts to job Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM).
* Create logical work instruction sequence of operations following work instruction content templates to include applicable drawings views, BAC/D6 process specifications, and required certifications.
* Utilize AeroSuite (ME job authoring system) and Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESCi) and Government Online Data (GOLD) to link drawing views to job operations with annotation as applicable.
* Review and approve Wire Bundle assemblies and Production Illustration drawings (Wire Bundle Routing) for producibility (i.e. 286/288/289 models) and maintain planning configuration using the Wire Information and Release System (WIRs).
* Must be able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays.
* Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A Top Secret U.S. clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
* 3 or more years experience in development, selection, and/or revision of parts, materials, and processes specifications used to make electrical wiring and associated electrical systems.
* 3 or more years experience in wire bundle fabrication concepts, wire installation, electrical equipment installation, or installation of wiring provisions.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Experience supporting Commercial or Military Commercial Derivative aircraft (i.e. 747, VC-25, C-32, P-8, KC-46A).
* 5+ years prior manufacturing engineering/manufacturing planning experience supporting large aircraft assembly, modification, and/or maintenance operations (depending on level).
* 5+ years of experience with airplane programs products and processes.
* Production process knowledge of wire harness & panel fabrication and/or installation.
* Active/Current Secret or Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance within the last 5 years is a plus.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
