HarperCollins Christian Publishing is seeking a professional salesperson to work as a Key Account Manager as a part of the Online Retail Sales channel. This channel is very fast paced and ever changing, making for a vibrant and collaborative team.
This position will be responsible for working with Christian online accounts. The ideal applicant will be someone with a strong background in selling to key national accounts, excellent follow through skills and the ability to give high level presentations for a wide range of product groups to include (but not limited to) Adult Non-fiction and Fiction, Gift Books, Childrens Books and Childrens Bible products.
Responsibilities
* Achieve revenue and profit goals for assigned accounts
* Develop creative promotional ideas and custom product ideas that help drive sales and generate revenue
* Sales presentations to individuals and teams focusing on actionable, strategic goals
* Manage advertising strategy and budgets for assigned accounts
* Provide analysis, input, and feedback on all matters related to the assigned accounts, including but not limited to:
* Assign sales projections for new book proposals
* Provide publishers with consistent and accurate feedback
* Identify promotional opportunities for all assigned accounts
* Provide sales analysis to various internal stakeholders
* Develop and maintain productive relationships with all key account stakeholders
* Work interdepartmentally to assist in achieving corporate objectives and goals including but not limited to assisting with .com strategies for other online retail accounts that fall under other sales channels
* Actively participate in internal meetings with the publishing/marketing groups to provide market feedback
* Effectively manage your assigned expense budgets
Qualifications
Work Experience: minimum 5 years of successful sales, National Account level experience preferred but not required
Education: Bachelors degree in business/marketing or equivalent work experience preferred
Industry Knowledge: familiarity with online bookstore accounts and evangelical subculture (strongly preferred) understanding of basic business and retail finance; knowledge of publishing industry
