Global Finance Process Lead
News Corp is investing in a Global Transformation office and embarking on a cross-functional transformation journey. We are seeking an experienced Global Finance Process Lead to design and implement the target operating model for finance.
We are looking for a results-driven experienced global finance process who can work with the extended transformation team to engage with our extended finance leadership team in the Business Units and corporate to design and implement a future proof finance organization to provide higher value at scale. The ideal candidate should be able to partner with cross-functional stakeholders to not only design the target end to end finance processes, but also develop and execute pragmatic roadmaps designed to improve the process maturity enabled by technology (incl. ERP systems and automation). This role is required to work effectively with the Transformation Office, consulting partners, and leaders across organizational boundaries, areas of expertise and global time zones. The ideal candidate can leverage their practical hands on expertise in finance and technology enablers to drive adoption of common ways of working and increasing the use of data driven decisions while creating scale. The ideal candidate can flex between adoption of standard processes and value-added customizations while maintaining agility in the process. This role should be able to thrive in a state of change and ambiguity and practical solutions enabled by technology solutions, including automation. The ideal candidate can effectively bring others along the change journey and co-create innovative solutions to drive sustainable success.
Job Responsibilities:
* Work with the Head of Global Finance Transformation to ensure that the overall program delivers on the finance vision and desired outcomes
* Work with the Transformation Office and cross functional stakeholders in Technology and Finance to ensure that the cross-functional program delivers on the business vision and desired outcomes
* Actively build strong relationships with Business Unit (BU) Finance Leadership and extended key stakeholders to drive a change management program
* Work closely (including leverage) with Corporate Finance and BU Finance teams to design, build and support a sustainable end-to-end finance processes which provide scale and provide quality data outputs to facilitate strategic decision making
* Inform strategic planning for process optimization, automation and offshoring to ensure it delivers to business outcomes and optimum return on investment in a timely manner
* Plan and manage process analysis and design including value stream mapping and process efficiency analysis and improvement
* Work with key stakeholders to define and deliver a strategic implementation roadmaps to deliver business outcomes and realize benefits in an optimal manner for finance processes
* Support teams in identifying and activating no regret activities to deliver quick wins or enable future process enhancements
* Partner with key stakeholders to design processes underpinned by key design principles, policies, accountability matrices and clear handoffs to enable optimal delivery models via center of excellence and shared service centers
* Create and deliver a culture of performance measures and process metrics to manage processes effectively at scale
* Facilitate and oversee process-led workshops and working sessions with Business Unit and cross-functional stakeholders to validate and prioritize opportunities and design end-to-end process solutions that drive to business outcomes
* Build a culture of continuous improvement in process efficiency and effectiveness and drive results through use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies
* Build LEAN capabilities across News Corp by championing formal management system, effectively engaging workforce in continuous improvement
* Facilitate integration across teams, specifically process automation, center of excellence, shared services and offshoring
* Partner with Technology and functional stakeholders to support a technology roadmap for supporting finance processes
Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree or technical diploma in related fields
* 8+ years of relevant finance domain expertise across processes (P2P, O2C, R2R)
* 5+ years of relevant experience in managing end-to-end processes utilizing LEAN Six Sigma methodologies to drive customer value and impact
* 5+ years of relevant experience in process transformation in a multi-location service model, ideally in complex, matrix organizations
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification is preferred
* Understanding and proven demonstration of technical skills required to service internal and external customers in a matrix organization undergoing significant change
* Proven experience of process re-engineering within multi-location service model
* Proven experience with Six Sigma and project management
* Proven experience and knowledge of Lean tools such as performance visualization, performance dialogues, root cause analysis, value stream mapping and 5S
* Proven experience in promoting knowledge transfer and good practice of sharing information across markets or businesses
* Proven experience and knowledge in driving technology enabled transformational change including process automation and integration
* Proven communication and interpersonal skills including influencing and collaboration with others (including reporting staff, senior management and executives) as well as producing quality written/visual communication
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills including critical thinking skills with decision-making confidence
* Proven experience and knowledge in developing and managing shared service processes to deliver leading class service is an asset
* Proven ability to work to challenging deadlines, and work flexibly in a changing and demanding fast paced environment
