Business - Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. CO&I is responsible for delivering Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The Microsoft portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world's largest online services.

Datacenter Engineering Telecommunications/low voltage network (Telecom) Discipline Manager will lead Microsoft's Engineering & Design Telecommunications design team, providing people management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadership for our datacenter designs & delivery.

Core Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the overall leadership of the Telecommunications Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), supporting career and technical growth, technical direction, and the facilitation and delivery of Microsoft's industry-leading datacenter designs.
* Collaboration with Global Technical Governance team, Global Strategy teams and DCE Operations Team to develop the datacenter designs from basis of design (BOD) to issue for constructions (IFC) and through the Construction Administration phase of datacenter until handover for new DC project build-outs.
* Collaboration with internal & external customers, lead the direction of the Telecoms and Low Voltage network technical delivery & oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete Datacenter design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules and budgets of the projects.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or 10 years in Telecommunications leadership in mission critical environments.
* RCDD accredited.
* Technical understanding of mission critical environments.
* Detailed understanding for structured cabling component for datacenter. WAN and LAN hardware competency and cloud scale networking.
* Ability to lead team of subject matter experts, engineers and architects in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large data center environments.
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in mission critical projects (Datacenters, Laboratories and/or Micro-Electronics projects or similar)
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as project or team manager
* Demonstrated ability to write, speak, and present information effectively and persuasively
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and be proactive
* Excellent problem-solving, judgment, team building, and decision-making skills
* Experience using MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Excel including effective reporting/presentations of project information
