Microsoft Azure Storage is the core data storage service for all of Windows Azure, OneDrive, and XBox Live just to name a few customers. Since 2008 Azure Storage has grown to store exabytes of data, and is one of the few true exascale systems in the world. Over the next few years we are going to grow the system to be capable of storing zettabytes of data, and we expect over the next decade to reach zettascale.

Our development path includes designing and implementing new hardware based accelerators - utilizing the latest technologies including FPGAs, ASICs, RDMA, NVMe devices, Flash, NVDIMM and Storage Class Memory.

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented engineer to come work at SW/HW boundary to enable new hardware systems.

* Technical lead across all aspects of the SW stack for a new hardware device
* Drive technical collaboration across teams
* Influence the design of hardware for optimal performance and scalability
* Plan, schedule and deliver quality software in the Cloud
* Solve technical barriers and ensure projects successfully ship to production in the Cloud
* Coach other members of the team to help them grow; option is open for direct people management
* 10+ years of professional development experience in C/C++ with multiple shipped products.
* Deep understanding of OS and Kernels
* Expert at writing Windows kernel mode drivers (WDF, KMDF, etc.) or Linux drivers
* Understanding of virtualization technologies and architecture (Hyper-V) is preferred
* Experience with networking technologies is strongly preferred
* Experience in data storage systems, file systems, and caching approaches is strongly preferred
* Experience deploying solutions in the Cloud is strongly preferred
* Very strong problem-solving and debugging skills (both HW & SW)
* Ability to drive technical decisions across teams and divisions
* Great interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task while balancing short term and long term needs is essential
* BA/BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field is preferred
