Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position in our Urbanville, Iowa office:

Senior Manager, Operations Management

* The Senior Manager will work across businesses and oversee critical areas of Mercers Association business, including Claims Operations, Administration, Underwriting, and West Coast Operations
* You will be responsible for managing three to six direct reports, including overseeing team performance as well as coaching and development of the team to achieve their goals
* You will interact with Client Managers and insurance carriers and handle any escalations

We will count on you to:

* Manage the overall performance of your team, including managing them to meet Service Level Agreements and other goals
* Oversee functions in multiple operations areas, including claims, administration, underwriting, and West Coast brokerage
* Create a strategic annual plan, identifying opportunities to optimize efficiencies
* Identify quarterly risks and offer solutions for mitigation

What you need to have:

* Bachelors degree
* Strong management skills required
* Experience coaching direct reports to develop their skills and achieve business goals
* Strong organization and time-management skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills are vital to this role
* Aptitude for and experience with continuous improvement
* Experience identifying risks and developing solutions for risk mitigation

What makes you stand out?

* Insurance industry experience would be nice to have, but not necessary for the role
* Strategic mindset able to come up with new and improved ways to address inefficiencies
* Lean Six Sigma certification
