The Department

The Corporate Tax Team is responsible for managing overall corporate tax functions and obligations at Invesco. These functions include tax planning, tax strategy development, evaluation of tax accounting methods, and delivery of tax guidance to business partners. The Tax Team works closely with other teams in Finance to compile necessary information and perform tax accounting calculations for financial statement purposes. Additionally, the team is responsible for preparation, review, and submission of legally required tax returns. Finally, the Tax Team manages tax controversy and regulatory requirements through evaluation of risk rating, responses to tax authorities, and defense of tax positions on audit.

Your Role

The primary purpose of the Tax Operations Senior Associate role is to facilitate the global tax operation function, and to assist with other tax projects as needed. This role reports to the Tax Operations Senior Manager.

You will be responsible for:

* Collaborate with team members to identify, implement, and document process improvement/value-added opportunities with the goals of increasing efficiency and decreasing risk
* Facilitate tax process service placement by working with onshore and offshore teams
* Assist with implementation of finance technology solutions and act as liaison with technology teams for tax department
* Train others in tax department on data, systems, and processes
* Act as administrator for tax systems (e.g. provision software, indirect tax engine, tax compliance software, etc.)
* Assist with special projects and company initiatives (e.g. M&A, technology implementations, etc.)
* Assist with Federal, International, and SALT projects as needed
* Coordinate with members of other Finance groups (e.g. Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable, etc.), including personnel located at Invesco offices globally

The experience you bring:

* Accounting, Computer and Information Science, Computer and Information Science & Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Information Technology & Accounting, or Tax (Graduate degree or working towards a Graduate degree is a plus
* 4+ years of professional experience. Large public accounting firm or large corporation experience strongly preferred
* Indirect or Federal Tax experience a plus
* Strong desire to leverage existing core skillset to contribute to the tax department
* Professionally curious, self-driven, creative problem solving, analytical
* Strong communication (verbal and written), with appropriate professional judgement
* Technology/systems savvy with experience in Excel, data visualization (e.g. Power BI or Tableau), ETL/data wrangling tools (e.g. Alteryx), Oracle, Hyperion, etc. a plus
* Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
* Proven project management skills and comfortable supporting multiple concurrent projects
