Position Summary:
Directly supervises employees in the batching, picking, checking, order control, packing, replenishment and receiving department in addition to carrying out daily responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures. Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance (reporting performance to the Manager) and reports problems immediately to the Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
* Monitors employee work productivity, accuracy, neatness and conformance to Owens & Minors Code of Conduct and other company policies.
* Responsible for 30,000 square feet of warehouse space, 7k SKUs and $10 million in net inventory assets.
* Traces the history of shipped orders to identify and resolve service failures and recommends remedial actions.
* Implements, enforces and reports on quality control procedures including but not limited to: clean products, clean aisles, employee picking errors and productivity performance.
* Reviews and monitors security procedures by implementing and performing security checks as well as observing employee actions for security regulation compliance.
* Responsible for the nightly closing of the facility and compliance of nightly close procedures.
* Reviews errors and complaints and compiles individual statistics to review with the management to determine appropriate action.
* Conducts corrective action with employees via oral and written warnings when employees are not meeting all company expectations.
* Determine staffing requirements; hire and manage personnel; assure employees training programs are properly implemented; resolve personnel issues; track payroll hours, vacation, sick and personal time; set expectations and goals for staff
Qualifying Experience:
* High school diploma required or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred
* Five years warehouse/ distribution supervisory experience
* Requires thorough knowledge of receiving, stocking, picking, checking, shipping with UPS, USPS, and local couriers. Inventory Control experience is required.
* Excellent organizational skills, problem solving, and motivation skills
* Proficient with computer systems (Excel and Word)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
* Proven work history in a fast-paced pick/pack and warehouse environment
