Job Description

As a QA Engineering Manager, Portal, you will lead a team of QA Leads whose mission is to ensure the delivery of a high-quality software and platform for the Portal product lines.
Our team of QA Leads build and execute the Portal product quality strategy and plans across multiple products and platforms. They are responsible for debugging issues across the hardware and software stack including consumer electronics devices, mobile apps, and web. They possess intimate knowledge of current issues, build heat maps and bug burn-downs, along with track and report detailed metrics to key stakeholders which would lead to go/no-go decisions per milestone.
The ideal candidate is a quality assurance leadership expert with strong communication skills and previous experience as a detail-oriented QA engineer. The candidate should also have a passion for building great hardware and software products and consumer electronics device experience. Your team will ensure the release of Portal products that will delight our customers.

QA Engineering Manager, Portal Responsibilities

* Build a test-driven engineering and development culture that drives improvements in quality

* Recruit and lead technical talent, be both highly technical and an effective people manager

* Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level

* Implement process changes to scale testing efforts across multiple product lines

* Work along-side hardware and software engineers, program managers and QA to triage issues and help the engineering teams make informed go/no-go decisions

* Partner with Automation and Infrastructure teams to leverage automation for scalability and reliability

Minimum Qualifications

* BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

* Experience building and managing technical teams, including performance management

* Experience leading QA Managers, QA Engineers and contract workers

* Experience leading QA activities for consumer electronics devices

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in managing black box and white box testing

* Experience reporting progress and results to stakeholders

* Experience debugging OS and applications on consumer electronics devices

* Experience building, shipping, and maintaining commercial software

* Experience coding in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ or equivalent language
