Job Description

Facebook is seeking a Project Manager to join our Global Data Center Connectivity team (GDCC). Our data centers are the foundation upon which our innovative services are delivered and our rapidly scaling infrastructure operates. The GDCC team lights up Facebooks global data centers, using the latest fiber, cabling and ISP/OSP materials to deliver the physical infrastructure that connects the world to our services, videos, feeds, and other information stored on Facebooks global network. The Project Manager has responsibility for supporting the GDCC OPS, GDCC Field Engineering and GDCC Project Management site staff in delivering and maintaining new builds, retrofits and day-to-day operations for all low voltage, fiber optic cabling, and support infrastructure. This position is full-time.

Project Manager, Global Data Center Connectivity (University Grad) Responsibilities

* Single point of contact for management of OSP fiber projects to include coordination of design, creation of budgets, creation of schedules, planning and contractor resource assignment and tracking contractor performance to include billing against budget and contract.

* Manage proposals, SOWs, bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles and design review and approvals and contract closeout.

* Represent Facebook interests in joint build OSP projects.

* Manages ROW and permit acquisition process and aggressive deployment schedule of design and construction vendors.

* Work with Facebook supply chain to ensure OFCI material availability supports project timelines and is in compliance with design specification.

* Provide weekly project status reports (financial, schedule, Q/C).

* Provide construction consulting services.

* Occasional meeting and coordination with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

* Manage Quality Control program and ensure all closeout documents are obtained and operationalized to include route as builds and GIS data.

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, an Associates degree in Project Management or other technical field.

* Experience building relationships to influence a diverse group of stakeholders to meet the overall mission of the organization.

* Experience building cross-functional relationships and building internal community within the workplace.

* Experience setting priorities in front of multiple requests and meet competing demands.

* Communication skills.

* Experience exercising initiative, problem solving, and decision-making.

* Experience understanding and applying guidelines, policies and procedures.

* Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a mission critical environment requiring coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.

* Experience reviewing design documents and specifications.

* Construction management experience.

* Data center operations experience.

* Experience with outside plant cabling (OSP).

* Experience with inside plant cabling (ISP) and structure cabling systems.

* Experience leading people or project teams.

* Proficiency with office tool suites (MS Office, Google Docs, etc.).
