Job Description

Instagram is looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive engineering programs aimed at enabling our data and analytics teams to move more quickly and efficiently. As a TPM on Instagram, you will work closely with data engineers, data scientists and product teams to operationalize critical aspects of our data infrastructure and experimentation ecosystems, thereby enabling product teams to attain their goals. You will play a key role in making our data infrastructure more reliable and scalable as we grow. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, adept at collaborating cross-functionally, has experience with large scale systems and datasets, and familiarity working with data engineering and analytics teams. This person will be highly organized, productive, poised, and able to thrive in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios

Technical Program Manager, Instagram Data & Ecosystems Responsibilities

* Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones for your team

* Design, build and scale programs to support engineering efforts and improve data infrastructure and experimentation systems

* Develop and manage cross-functional programs, facilitating relationships across Instagram and Facebook to identify risks, manage dependencies and optimize resources

* Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions, remove roadblocks, and deliver on high-impact projects with a focus on efficiency, performance, and quality

* Collaborate with data science, engineering and product management partners to define roadmap and long-term strategy for your teams domain

* Roadmap and communicate program updates, risks and new opportunities to leaders and stakeholders, identify dependencies and perform risk/change management on projects

* Assess business impact, prioritize initiatives and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment through project planning and strong interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications

* B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

* 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience

* Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery

* Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope

* Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership

* Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products

* Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience

* Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems

* Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in social media, software, internet or digital media industries

* Technical knowledge and/or experience in large scale experimentation systems
