Job Description

Facebook is seeking Postdoctoral Researchers specialized in Computational Linguistics to join Facebook AI Research (FAIR), a research organization focused on making significant progress in AI. Individuals in this role are expected to drive a research program around the topic of using human-in-the-loop methods for improving NLP models, and should be recognized experts in identified research areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing and computational linguistics. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in producing new science to improve natural language understanding in machines. Term length would be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Postdoctoral Researcher, Computational Linguistics (PhD) Responsibilities

* Perform research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.

* Employ linguistic knowledge to contribute to a better understanding of where current NLP models should be improved.

* Help manage human-in-the-loop data annotation efforts.

* Help devise better data-driven models of natural language understanding.

* Contribute research that can be applied to Facebook product development.

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree or completing a postdoctoral assignment in the field of Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science or similar.

* Publications in quantitative/statistical/computational linguistics or related technical fields.

* Experience manipulating and analyzing data from varying sources and models.

* Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Research and software engineer experience demonstrated via an internship, work experience, coding competitions.

* A good understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical learning approaches.
