Job Details

Work with merchandising, store operations, information systems, supply chain, other Dollar General business units and vendors to identify, evaluate and implement solutions to improve processes, drive efficiency for team members and field leaders, and reduce costs. Leads cross functional process improvement initiatives that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Dollar Generals operations.

* Utilize process improvement techniques to lead the identification, evaluation and implementation of processes/solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of selected business functions. Support strategic planning, process review and corporate initiatives to improve corporate performance.
* Lead key cross functional and strategic projects that deliver significant value to Dollar General. Working throughout the organization to build consensus, define requirements, develop project plans and lead projects. Provide project management, analytics and measures to projects to ensure milestones are met and deliverables are achieved.
* Provide leadership and supervision to Store Operations Process Improvement Directors and their teams. Direct the analysis to support current and future strategic initiatives. Coach and develop others in process improvement techniques and initiatives.
* Partner with Supply Chain, Store Operations, Merchandising, and other business unit leadership in the development and deployment of process improvement initiatives. Work with I.T., Finance, and other support functions to remove constraints, justify investments, and implement solutions that improve service and reduce expense.
* As needed, revisit current processes to incorporate new business needs, and partner with cross-functional teams to determine how to best incorporate changes within their business units that impact store processes downstream. Own the planning, communication, training, and ultimately execution of these process modifications.

Qualifications

* Ability to quickly identify potential drivers of emerging problems, root cause, and generate solutions
* Ability to partner, coordinate, and delegate to all levels of management
* Prioritize projects based on solution impact, time to implement, and/or direction from leadership
* Ability to lead multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
* Ability to lead presentations to field leadership teams and upper management
* Ability to design and execute appropriate analyses to size potential impact of problems or solutions
* Strong analytical and process mapping skills
* Create and execute an implementation plan for rollout to network
* Basic skill level in spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation applications

Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent professional experience. Advanced degree or significant professional experience preferred. Minimum of ten years process improvement, project management and/or project leadership experience required. Minimum of five years of team leadership required. Previous experience managing leaders of teams preferred.
