The Corporate Information Services Department is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Senior Network Engineer.
The Senior Network Engineer Provides advanced design, development, implementation, and maintenance support for UHS networks. Recommends and implements controls and procedures to protect UHS assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. Provides support and technical expertise to troubleshoot network issues as needed.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Installs supports and maintains hardware and software infrastructure in accordance with policy and best practices, including routers, switches, wireless controllers and firewalls. Provides network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration.
* Maintains and supports all aspects of the wide and local area network and corporate data communications. Monitors network security design and integration.
* Diagnoses and solves problems and issues, keeping others apprised of the status. Provides guidance to network technicians as needed.
* Develops, tests and implements guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices.
* Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions or issues. Monitors network usage, anticipates problems and recommends solutions.
* Works closely with team members to assist and complete projects and make recommendations on improving processes and practices.
* Provides network documentation.
* Assists staff in assessing the effectiveness and impact of departmental activities and practices relative to local and wide area network functionality.
* Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors, etc. to provide technical assistance and support.
* Reports network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, and managing projects.
* Remains current, providing information to the team on emerging technologies, trends and changes. Provides recommendations where needed on areas that need to be further investigated.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
* Associate's degree required.
* Current Cisco certifications desired but not mandatory, CCNP,etc.
Knowledge/Experience:
* Five to eight years of related knowledge/experience in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of multi-vendor network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, IPS, and load balancers.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Advanced Cisco IOS and NXOS commands/configurations.
* Expert Experience and knowledge of supporting a LAN/WAN environment, including switch, router, EIGRP, and BGP.
* Advanced knowledge of implementation and support of Cisco Firewalls including NAT, VPN, Anyconnect, Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, and Meraki.
* Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting TCPIP networks.
* Advanced knowledge of authentication and authorization with Radius and/or TACACS.
* Medium to Advanced knowledge of F5 load balancers.
* Experience with WAN Appliances such as River Bed or Silver Peak.
* Experience with CISCO and other vendor Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, IPS, and Firewalls.
* Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and servers.
* Experience MS Office, Visio and Project.
* Experience servicing customers via phone/email support.
* Understanding of Citrix and VMWare is preferred.
* Customer relationship training experience preferred.

* Ability to work flexible hours and/or overtime as needed.
* Demonstrated interpersonal, customer service and facilitation skills with the ability to interact with staff at various skill levels.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Organizational skills and abilities to self-manage workload.
