Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in his/her professional responsibilities in providing pharmacy services. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, participates in the preparation, dispensing, distribution and return of patient specific medications including intravenous admixtures, supplies and maintains automated technology equipment, packages unit of use dosages, maintains and transports pharmaceuticals, and performs tasks associated with regulatory compliance. Documents activities as indicated and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
* National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Required upon hire or within the first 6 months of employment

REQUIRED SKILLS
* Excellent Communications Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Multi Line Telephone Operational Skills, Computer Skills to include use and navigation, and Good Reasoning Skills
