How will you make an impact?
As a hands-on leader you will manage our application software group focused on automation software to control Thermo Fisher's Electron Microscopes target at the semiconductor market. With a background in developing and delivering great software, strong technical ability, great communication skills, ability to inspire your team to achieve outstanding results, proven record of accomplishment of building/leading strong teams of talented engineers and enjoy working with the best and brightest teams, we encourage you to apply.

What will you do?

* The software engineering manager will be responsible for managing the software development activities and direct reports for a highly skilled team of software developers
* This team builds user interfaces, computer vision algorithms, and machine automation routes to simplify operator experience with a complex ion and electron beam microscopes
* Data acquired is used for process control and root cause defect analysis in the semiconductor market.

How will you get here?

Education:

* University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
* An advanced degree is preferred

Experience

* Collaborate with the product management in defining the product vision
* Manage projects that deliver on commitments to internal and external customers
* Manage day-to-day activities of engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology
* Manage team's resources: hire, mentor, and grow the engineering team
* Work closely with engineers to architect and develop the best technical solution
* Hands-on technical leader
* Report on status of development, quality, and risks to management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Minimum of 2 years of experience as technical lead or as a functional manager
* Excellent interpersonal communications skills required due to the high degree of interaction and collaboration across functional groups
* Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary to own projects from inception to completion
* Preference for development experience with highly integrated, high-performance systems used in semiconductor capital equipment or related industries
