Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) has a position within the Naval Power (NP) Mission Area with primary responsibilities supporting Naval Surface and Undersea Systems (NSUS) Program Area, in the Total Ship Integrated Systems (TSIS) Sub Program Area as a Sr. Contracts Negotiator for the Integrated Ship Solutions and Support (IS3) programs. Primary responsibilities are supporting the Total Ship Integrated Systems (TSIS) Programs responsible for the Landing Platform Dock Integrated Ship Board Electronics programs and Integrated Bridge System programs.
As a team member for TSIS, you will work directly with the Program Manager(s) and their Leadership Teams to execute contracts for various customers. Primary responsibilities for the position will include supporting several contracts areas within the TSIS Business: Landing Platform Dock (LPD 17 Class), Amphibious Class Ships, Expeditionary Sea Base and TAO Class Oiler Shipbuilding Programs, Offshore Patrol Cutters (OPCs) and Polar Security Cutter (PSC). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on major sole source and competitive program captures. The person will deal with primary customers and subcontractor partner companies such as:

This high visibility assignment will also include tracking new business program metrics vs Annual Operating Plan (AOP) with reporting accountability into both the Naval Surface and Undersea Systems (NSUS) and Total Ship Integrated Systems (TSIS) Program Directors and the NSUS Senior Manager Contracts, the TSIS Manager, Program Contracts and the Raytheon San Diego Contracts Site Lead as well as the Naval Power Mission Area Director.
This position will allow the selected individual to be involved in many aspects of Contracts Administration and Negotiation such as: Front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Management of the customer relationship, the provision of business counsel and leadership to the Program Management Teams, together with expedited proposal, negotiation and/or definitization of contracts that are critical to RMD and Naval Power/NSUS/TSIS Programs.
The opportunity to develop skills to recognize business and contractual issues in program performance; implement solutions; carry to completion, while exercising good judgment with minimal supervision. Please note that the ability and willingness to travel domestically for customer negotiations, program reviews, and other engagements will be necessary when COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted.
This position may be located in San Diego, CA Regular travel will be required to the San Diego, CA facility if working remotely or at a different location.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year
Required Skills:
* 6 years of experience in the field of Contract Management, Negotiations, Finance, Supply Chain, Program Management or related fields (or an advanced degree and 4 years of experience.)
* BA/BS in Business, Economics, Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Law, Finance, or a related field.
* Experience in generating and negotiating complex proposals/contract.
* U.S. Citizenship is required
* This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
