Job Description

The Business Development Manager is a leadership position in PPGs new Additive Manufacturing business! The basic purpose of this position is to identify new business opportunities optimally and exploit these opportunities to generate new sources of top line revenue for PPG!

Key Responsibilities:

* The position reports directly to the Director of Additive Manufacturing and is responsible for a range of activities crucial to insure short and long-term profitable growth of targeted market opportunity areas.
* Crafting a full knowledge-base of the relevant technology/market landscape within PPG, its competitors and across the broader industry
* Identify, assess, prioritize and develop specific business opportunities
* Build specific, measurable action plans to leverage targeted opportunities
* Ensure that new business is secured. This will require strong cross-functional linkage with marketing, technology and sales.
* Identifies, prioritizes and acts to close business opportunities for PPGs additive manufacturing technology
* Seeks input from business leaders, technology leaders, sales reps and outside experts to understand market and identify opportunities
* Proactive in reaching out and following up with leads
* Drives value-based growth opportunities where there are challenges that is a good fit for our technology and supports collecting that value with the customer
* Work across business units and functions, particularly with those aligned with the area of responsibility to drive success
* Proactive follow-up with customers, partners and leads to grow the business
* Prioritize information and use vital documentation tools like CRM

Qualifications:

* B.S. or above in relevant field, such as engineering, chemistry and materials, with MBA preferred
* Experience in the automotive, industrial and/or aerospace businesses
* B2B sales experience and track record of success in driving significant growth, preferably from a small business perspective
* Technical, manufacturing and/or sales experience in additive manufacturing, product engineering and/or materials
* Travel up to 75% time (when safe to do so)
