This position is a full-time technical role located at our Dulles, Virginia campus. The successful candidate will be expected to:

* Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Raptor ground operations products in support of multiple space vehicle programs.
* Lead creation of ground operations procedures that ensure safe and efficient execution of mission activities spanning all relevant domains (C2, Flight Dynamics, Mission Planning, Simulation and Training, System Administration, etc.)
* Lead creation of standardized training modules to form the basis of program-specific training.
* Interface with customers and end users to determine use cases and day-in-the-life ConOps that inform product design.
* Develop and maintain standards associated with the established Integrated Operations functional group processes. Work with IOPS program leads to ensure consistency and standardization across all operational products, to include handbooks, training plans and materials, space and ground procedures, scripts, displays, rehearsal plans, etc.
* Support development of training materials to aid in quickly on-boarding new personnel
* Lead creation of user manuals to serve as a reference for operators and administrators
* Provide input into standardized ground system telemetry displays
* Track and disposition lessons learned and critiques from internal and external stakeholders.
* Present and/or facilitate both internal and customer-facing training exercises.
* Collaborate with Mission Control Complex and Mission Ops Development departments to deploy Raptor to the MCC in support of upcoming LEOP campaigns.
* Assist with Raptor deployment and configuration for missions flown from Dulles facilities.
* Support end-to-end and SV compatibility testing as required.
* Provide real-time Raptor support for in-flight missions and associated rehearsals/exercises and assist with anomaly resolution.
* Be capable of leading and mentoring a diverse team of engineers/operators
* Provide status reporting through both the functional and program management branches.
* Support internal and external customer meetings through proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel) communications.
* May require shift work and travel ~ 10% of the time for simulation and launch support.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in engineering or related discipline and 14 years rsquo; experience; 12 years with Masters; 9 years with PhD
* Experience with development and/or administration of ground software used for space vehicle command and control, mission planning, flight dynamics, simulation, or training.
* System engineering experience or significant classwork in system engineering or system design
* Experience writing technical documents for internal or external customers
* Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including ability to make persuasive presentations to external customers at milestone reviews

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with MAESTRO and/or Raptor command and control software
* Prior experience with virtualized deployment ground control software onto a ground system infrastructure
* Designing and implementing training scenarios and requirements for training simulations; developing training requirements and operator certification requirements
* Experience leading a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success.
* Experience working on government systems and/or government process environment
* Experience supporting spacecraft launch campaigns
* Current Active Security Clearance (TS/SCI) or ability to obtain security clearance
