We have an opening for a Drive Electronics Cognizant Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

As an Electrical Power Engineer you will support the subsystem application of electronic drive assemblies on space vehicles. . You will evaluate designs and determine proper application as well as solve anomalies during design, development, integration, and on orbit.

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

* Analyze and interpret requirements and apply them to the design and development of motor stepping electronics
* Conduct analyses on electronic components to include thermal, power dissipation, and electrical pin out.
* Solve on orbit anomalies associated with motor drive assemblies
* Complete trade studies for best application from a technical, schedule and cost

perspective

* Cross-Collaborate with multiple development projects and team members to reach common solutions

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

Principal Engineer

This position requires a Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in a STEM field (ideally Electrical Engineering) with 5 years of experience; a Master rsquo;s degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD

Sr. Principal Engineer

This position requires a Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in a STEM field (ideally Electrical Engineering) with 9 years of experience; a Master rsquo;s degree with 7 years of experience; or a PhD with 4 years of experience

Additional Required Qualifications:

Fluent with step motor drive devices

Strong analog power supply and/or digital controller background

Experience working with a supplier

Can effectively operate within a multi-discipline engineering team

Broad technical expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in mechanisms engineering

Strong application of thermal analysis on electronic components

Experience working with a foreign suppler of electrical hardware

Experience with application of motor drive devices in space systems

Working knowledge of spacecraft power subsystems

Familiarity with spaceflight electronic development
