Position Summary

Provides Human Resources (HR) leadership within an assigned region of ABM. Responsible for strategically aligning HR programs, services and initiatives to support the region in alignment with ABM. Directs and provides collaborative leadership support in the design, development, communication and delivery of HR programs, services and initiatives intended to meet the needs of an Industry Group, Region and ABM. Directs and leads the activities of a team of Sr. HR Managers and HR Managers in the delivery of HR programs, services and initiatives. Collaborates with executives, senior management and ABM leaders in supporting HR strategy; ensures the efficient and effective delivery and performance of HR programs and activities; recommends and implements changes to existing programs, policies and services and/or the need to develop locally-defined programs and services, as appropriate; directs and leads efforts and initiatives to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase associate engagement, satisfaction, productivity and retention; and measures program effectiveness.

Essential Duties

* Directs and leads the activities of a team of HR in the delivery of HR Services to assigned areas.
* Mentors, coaches and leads staff by providing performance feedback and advising on professional development and quality performance.
* Directs and manages all aspects of HR Programs, services and initiatives, including collaborating with Operations Leaders, Senior Leaders, Executives and HR COE Leaders to understand, analyze and develop HR Plans, supporting service strategy and related action plans.
* Partner with Operational Leadership on developing action plans and initiatives focused on improving work relationships, building morale and increasing team member engagement and retention.
* Ensure consistent communication with HR team and providing support.
* Building and maintaining an environment for our Team Members that results in a high customer focused and engaged workforce.
* Analyzes trends and metrics, seeking opportunities and strategies to improve trends in turnover, retention and key indicators of employee and customer engagement.
* Partner with leadership to understand current and future staffing needs.
* Partner with Talent Team to develop workforce plans that respond to current and future staffing needs.
* Partner with Learning & Development Team to ensure key programs are focused on front line managers and team members.
* Ability to read and understand data to inform continuous improvement and inform decision making.
* Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal as needed/required.
* Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
* Provides guidance and input on business restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
* Identifies training needs for business and individual coaching needs.
* Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
* Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver programs to meet organizational goals
* Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders.
* Support customer retention and business development though direct involvement with key customer base.
* Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
* Understand and mitigate corporate risk associated with relevant employment laws/policies
* Partner with and maintain an effective matrix relationship with HR COE and Team Member Services

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management or related field; Masters Degree preferred
* In lieu of degree, 10+ years of related experience required
* Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience in Human Resources, business operations or management
* Minimum of 3 years of significant human resources experience at the management level
* Appropriate experience with a large hourly & distributed workforce is a strong plus
* Experience working with union and non-union employees preferred
* Must be able to travel 25% of the time
* Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy
* Strong consultation and communication skills
* Ability to effectively challenge, influence, and develop productive relationships inside and outside of HR
* Intellectual agility, interpersonal flexibility and deep curiosity to learn
* Exposure to strong process and project management discipline
* Effective team player and networker
