The Vaccines Operating Unit at our company is undergoing significant growth across multiple product franchises at the West Point, PA site. The Associate Director, Engineering, will be accountable for the oversight of the projects team within Incoming Materials, Technical Operations, reporting to the Incoming Materials Technical Operations guide in the Shared Services End-to-End Technical Operations, at the West Point site.
As the projects team Principal, the Associate Director will be accountable for directing a sub-team of the broader Incoming Materials technical team in execution of projects and initiatives spanning multiple product franchises, including but not limited to site wide supply initiatives and continuous improvements, supplier initiated changes, raw material and component projects that impact a wide range of areas within the West Point site. Candidate will also be tasked with steering sitewide initiatives, stemming from Vendor Changes and/or compliance drivers. Limited off-shift or weekend coverage may be asked of based on business unit needs and specific assignments.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience

FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE:
* Work with a cross-functional organization consisting of Operations, Technology, Quality, Automation, Global Engineering Services, Procurement, Finance, Above Site Technology, Regulatory, among others, to develop and maintain processes that meet cGMP and business acumens.
* Coordinate the work of the technical team to identify and implement safety/compliance, technology-focused productivity and cost improvements.
* Exhibit behaviors focused on safety/compliance, equipment uptime, maintaining process consistency and minimizing cost.
* guide the broader team in the utilization of standard project management approaches and assemble and direct teams in the execution of projects with the duty of resourcing, charter development, project planning and tracking, risk management, and escalation.
* The incumbent will operate with a high degree of self-directing, assuring alignment with appropriate functional guides and stakeholders while advancing the teams assigned projects and initiatives.
* Utilize core technology standards to design and develop processes to clean, sterilize, manufacture, formulate, fill, and / or inspect vaccine products.
* Ability to examine an issue from diverse perspectives (safety, compliance, automation, equipment, process, and people) to develop practical solutions.
* Oversee the entire project portfolio. Manage team resources and prioritizes as aligned with business needs.
* Recruit and hire team members as necessary.
* Provide direction on schedule, priorities, and issue resolution to aid the team in accomplishing business objectives.
* Provide direction and leverage digital and lean six sigma methodologies in approaching the work.
* Assist in authoring regulatory submissions and presenting work to multiple regulatory agencies.
