Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, Nevada is seeking a positive, motivated full-time Admissions Clerk to work in a fast paced hospital setting.

This position will register patients in the Emergency Department and front admitting areas. The admissions clerk is also responsible for processing workers compensation forms to ensure a timely turnaround to compensations carriers and employers as well as processing transfers, admits and discharges.

Primary Responsibilities include admission procedures for hospital inpatients and outpatients. Obtaining all necessary information, and being responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all forms and consents. The Admission Clerk carries out these duties while respecting the dignity and privacy of patients.

This position predominantly is scheduled 12-hour shifts, though shifts vary dependent on the needs of the business to support a 24/7/365 operation.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED Preferred. Strongly prefer at least one (1) year of office, computer, and data entry experience.

Must be able to communicate & comprehend accurately & effectively in English through written & verbal correspondence.

SKILLS: Must have excellent typing skills. Knowledge of medical terminology, human physiology, and anatomy preferred. Must have high integrity and ability to maintain confidential information. Must maintain a pleasant & professional demeanor under pressure, with multiple duties, emotional situations, and constant interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
