Individual will inspect, maintain and rebuild motor vehicles, aerial units and associated equipment. Included in the duties are tasks such as making routine repairs to engines, chassis, brake work, tire work, aerial units, hydraulics, electrical and other general repairs on trucks and equipment in the Area Work Centers, at the Automotive Maintenance Center and roadside response.

The ultimate wage rate for this position is $31.94.
This position requires mechanical aptitude, manual and finger dexterity and the ability to communicate effectively, including being able to follow detailed written instructions. It also requires the individual to be able to read schematics and wiring diagrams, use basic hand, machine and power tools, operate test equipment, diagnostic equipment, computers and have the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must have an Associate's Degree in automotive maintenance or the equivalent in combined education and experience. In addition the applicant must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a Commercial Driver's License (Class A with Special Trailer Endorsement) and a proven safe driving record.
The working hours for this position will be either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday (determined by seniority), 2:00 p.m. - Midnight.
