Job Summary:
This role will be a key part of the Internal Fleet management team in the US at Circle K. We are in a period of rapid growth and we plan to continue to grow the fleet significantly over the next 2-3 years. The role will support the growth, streamline operational procedures and support operations in mitigating HSE risk and providing a strong safety culture. The candidate needs to be self-driven and have in depth knowledge of all relevant rules, regulations and metrics applicable for tank truck carriers in the US (DOT, TSA/HAZMAT Security, OSHA, Federal D&A program, FMCSA HOS-Compliance and SMS/SAFER Scores).
Essential Functions:
Establish and monitor DOT compliance and hazardous material program.
Work with fleet managers and Senior Management to support Circle Ks efforts to provide a safe efficient Fleet.
Support the relevant fleet personnel by implementing and monitoring safety programs.
Continuously improve the Safety program which includes; regularly scheduled audits, complete annual unit field inspections, incident investigations, DOT compliance, insurance liability and worker compensation claims.
Establish regular inspection schedules for the Fleets.
Conduct bi-annual field office audits on the fleets and ensure follow up and corrective actions are complete, escalate safety matters as needed
Complete unit field inspections with operations personnel and enhance safety culture and safety presence within the fleets.
Oversee regional insurance and workers compensation claims.
Assist in incident/accident investigations, analysis, root cause, preparation of reports; complete incident summaries and management follow up.
Prepare monthly inspections, audits and claims reports to Corporate Management.
Maintain logbook compliance records and retention. Audit 10% of driver logs monthly to ensure DOT compliance.
Minimum Qualifications /Requirements:
* 5+ years experience preferred in the following Industries:
* Vacuum, Pump Trucks
* Commercial Underground Construction
* Underground Utilities
* Oil and Gas
* Waste
* Equipment Rentals
* Knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations with a particular emphasis on U.S. Department of Transportation safety regulations
* Knowledge and familiarity with DOT hazardous material and cargo tank regulations effecting fuel transporters
* Excellent communication skills
* Top Customer Service
* Leadership, Mentoring, Training
* Hands-on Field Experience
* Proficient computer skills
* Knowledge of industry safety training
* Dedicated and Self-directed
* Heavy travel required 60-70%
Education:
* Bachelor of Environmental Health, Bachelor of Mechanical or similar Engineering degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of a 4-year degree.
