General Purpose of the Role
The Sr. Account Director, Group Benefits develops, directs, implements, & maintains a business plan to achieve sales & growth goals for group ancillary benefit sales within 50-2K lives. The Sr. Account Director will build, enhance & direct the relationship with Advisors/Registered Representatives/Brokers/Plan Sponsors/Participants and also build, direct & maintain intermediary sales programs/plans which result in an increase in sales revenue & market share within the assigned territory.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
* Serves as a subject matter expert to internal/external stakeholders by developing and maintaining an advanced understanding of LFG's products, services and operational structure for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
* Develops business on behalf of the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations.
* Directs business on behalf of the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations.
* Directs the identification and implementation of process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
* Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure the proper processing of all sold products from time of sale to issuance.
* Develops/drives complex sales strategy to increase sales/market share in territory
* Profiles territory's complex Advisors, Registered Reps &/or Brokers to target sr./exec relationships to build/identify firms/institutions interested in LFG offerings
* Cultivates, directs, & maintains sr./exec. client relationships
* Increases/gains awareness of Lincoln offerings w/ complex Advisors, Registered Reps &/or Brokers
* Develops, directs & executes complex plans to increase/gain opportunities to introduce Lincoln sr./exec. management to targeted Advisors, Registered Reps &/or Brokers
* Builds/maintains long-term relationships w/ complex Advisors, Registered Reps &/or Brokers, ensuring satisfaction/increased revenues
* Builds/directs a complex relationship platform, identifying sr./exec contacts in targeted Advisors, Registered Reps &/or Brokers to achieve profitable sales/growth
* Serves as a subject matter expert, leveraging an advanced understanding of LFG products, services & operational structure in territory
* Actively participates in financial services &/or insurance industry organization meetings as a subject matter expert
* Actively seeks opportunities for Lincoln sponsor &/or speak at events
* Supports growth in all segments of Lincolns products/services to maximize/capitalize on opportunities to penetrate firms/institutions
* Conducts Advisor, Registered Reps &/or Brokers meetings to achieve sales targets
* Develops/maintains collaborative relationships w/ internal stakeholders to achieve sales goals
* Provides feedback/intelligence to internal partners on existing/targeted firms/institutions
* Ensures conflicts regarding Lincolns products/services are resolved
* Collaborates with internal stakeholders on proposals &/or promo materials for area(s) of responsibility.
* Maintains sales call data in appropriate systems &/or completes sales reports.
* Meets/exceeds department &/or sales goals/targets for their territory.
* Supports Relationship Management retention & looks for opportunities to cross sell/cross partner with internal stakeholders.
Education
* 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required
Experience
* 5 7+ Years experience years in intermediary sales that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required )
