Position Description

This position is responsible for directing, improving, implementing and supervising the maintenance of the mechanical equipment of all Altamont Area equipment and operations of compressor stations. This includes a comprehensive, preventative and structural maintenance program. Position will direct, coordinate and oversee the planning and work performed by area Mechanics and maintenance of Altamont Area equipment, which includes Waukesha 7042 and 7044 engines with Aerial and IR compressors. Also Caterpillar 3516 and Frick screw compressors and Cooper Bessemer Compressors. There are a total of 9 facilities in the area, with 47 engines/compressors. Position will be responsible for ensuring company compliance with Environmental, OSHA, State regulations, rules, laws and requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Learns, understands, follows and enforces all applicable safety and environmental rules, regulations and policies. Immediately reports, corrects deficiencies and investigates incidents and safety concerns.

Immediately reports and corrects malfunctions of environmental equipment and completes incident reports in the IMPACT system.

* Create yearly operating budget, as well as forecast and track monthly spend of O&M budget. Supply variance explanations for over/underspend on budget.

Directs, coordinates, updates, documents and tracks predictive and preventative maintenance program in providing maximum operating efficiency and performance.

Maintains all environmental equipment in optimum operating condition to meet all applicable environmental permit requirements.

Develops work scopes which identify and accurately describe repair work.

Identify, order, and submit for approval all necessary mechanical maintenance tools, equipment, parts, consumable supplies, and materials required for efficient and effective mechanical operation of all stations and plants.

Maintains inventory of all replacement equipment, equipment parts and components stored in the warehouse and outside containers in good order.

By utilizing MAXIMO establish accurate maintenance records and produces maintenance reports for management or EH&S when requested.

Participates in the development of capital and significant maintenance plan for the budget.

Develops implements and maintains mechanical work schedules that do not interfere with producer's needs.

Develops training programs for maintenance personnel and specific process procedures for equipment operation.

Updates and maintains current area equipment documents.

Develops and implements sound management practices that control costs of labor, materials and vendor inventories ensuring quality; price and service criteria will be met.

Projects a Company First attitude and responds in a courteous manner to demands and inquiries.

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements: Education:

High school diploma required.

College or Trade school training in mechanical or engineering preferred. Experience / specific Knowledge:

Minimum of ten years industrial mechanical maintenance experience and knowledge, preferably five of which be in a lead or supervisory position.

Experience print reading of mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical schematic.

Knowledge of piping, power transmission, welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics.

Knowledge of troubleshooting motors, compressors, and controls.

A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver's license are required.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.

Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.

Must be accountable and take direction from Managers, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.

Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.

Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.

Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Physical demands:

Physical Activities Include, but are not limited to: Talking, hearing, standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, lifting, pulling, pushing, hand gripping, finger dexterity, writing, and typing, and climbing and descending stairways.

Personal Safety Activities Include, but are not limited to: Use of protective clothing, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, CPR, first aid.

Office Work: Reading and writing associated with required documentation, file updating, telephone communication, and computer operation.

Working Conditions:

Position subject to 24-hour call-out, including nights, weekends, holidays and emergencies.

Must be able to work up to 16 hours continuously, if necessary, and be able to work periods of consecutive days without time off as the schedule may require.

Outdoor work is subject to prevailing weather conditions; summer temperatures up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and winter temperatures below freezing.

Supervisory responsibility:

Supervision of multiple employees, which includes time and attendance, writing and delivering mid- year and yearly evaluations, and employee development plans.

* Address and mitigate any personnel issues/conflicts that arise in a timely manner in coordination with management and HR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and support a positive Safety program/culture in the area.

Support databases (MAXIMO, OPS INFO, etc.).

Estimate costs for mechanical maintenance events.

Promote and embody Kinder Morgan's Core Values.

Interpret and implement Company policies and procedures as they relate to the work being completed.

Act as a member of an Emergency Response team.

Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.

Will perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize multiple short and long term work schedules.

Strong communication, presentation, training, teamwork, and negotiation skills with all internal and external customers.

Project management skills and the ability to make sound business decisions based on risk management.

Position requires occasional overnight travel.

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed
