Reservoir simulation R&D

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position through March 9, 2021 at 12:00a.m. (Eastern Standard Time)

Subject matter expert in algorithmic/numerical reservoir simulation code development, proficiency in software development languages (C++, Python, C) and processes. Familiarity with the INTERSECT code base.

Required Qualifications:

* PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar, with a strong mathematical and computation focus.
* New graduates and experienced hires will be considered.
* Proficiency in software development languages (C++, Python, C) and processes.
* Knowledge: Understanding of multiple physical processes associated with hydrocarbon production, subsurface and the relationship to the governing model equations. Expertise in numerical methods to solve complex systems of partial differential equations. Proficiency in software development.
* Technical skills: Efficiently program in large, complex reservoir simulation code bases. Strong skills in C++/Python/C coding and High-Performance Computing. Familiarity with the INTERSECT code base a plus.
* Project management: Be able to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Be able to present projects to stake holders and partners.
* Collaboration (internal and external): Strong collaboration skills to work with partners in INTERSECT R&D, development with BUs, ETC teams and external research organizations. Strong communication skills to engage with partners and BUs on identifying and solving identified complex simulation problems. Strong connections with external institutes to align and leverage efforts on important challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiarity with the INTERSECT code base.
