Job Description
Bed Bath & Beyond is actively seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to join our Site Reliability team. We are seeking candidates who have proven skills in SRE, DevOps, software development, test automation, and system automation.
As the Sr. Site Reliability Engineer you will take ownership of infrastructure performance, scalability, reliability and availability. This role will be responsible for architecting, designing and implementing solutions what will ensure the stability of our on-prem datacenter, retail stores, and cloud infrastructure. You will also assist with incident management and incident escalation when issues arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work closely with engineering teams in designing and developing systems that are resilient and highly
* Automate repetitive and manual tasks
* Instrument, automate, and load test distributed, highly available products and services
* Observe and improve performance, availability, and reduce cost
* Implement metrics driven processes to ensure service quality target are met
* Develop and implement tools to make all of Engineering more productive.
* Investigate production incidents and participate in Root Cause Analysis development
* Participate in an on-call rotation
* Plan for the growth and help define best practices in all aspects of infrastructure, operations and engineering
* Deep experience with Linux system administration
* Experience developing and monitoring mission-critical systems
* Working knowledge of a centralized configuration tool like chef, puppet, or ansible
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and three (3) years directly related experience;
* 3 to 5 years of experience in information technology or SRE
* Expert technical knowledge of MS Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems
* Passion for DevOps, Agile, cloud and Security
* Excellent writing skills
* Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
* Highly motivated
* Ability to take initiative
* Excellent attention to detail
* Must be available to be on call as needed.
