JOB DESCRIPTION: Associate Underwriter, Lexington
The Associate Underwriter is the junior member of the production team, responsible for assisting throughout the underwriting process. This individual will support throughout all steps of the process, including submission review/preparation, broker data gathering, researching submission blocks, quote development, booking and issuing, endorsements, and mid-term servicing activities. He/she will contact brokers to retrieve complete information for submissions in cases where additional data is needed before the underwriting team can run the pricing model. The Associate Underwriter will also conduct analysis and for quote development and assist the underwriting team in preparation for broker and client meetings.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the production and issuance of submission preparation (renewal and new business), pricing, quotes, binders, endorsement and policies within time guidelines
* Analyze submissions, loss information, and financial statements for quote preparation and/or quote development
* Assist Underwriter in preparation for broker and client meetings, including pulling reports, researching topics online, creating presentation documents, and more
* Pull loss reports runs and any other ad hoc requests from Underwriter or brokers
Skills:
* General understanding of Commercial insurance process, terms and structure
* Intermediate Excel skills
* Time management able to prioritize and manage workload
* Ability to work independently to complete tasks
* Good oral and written communications skills
* Analytical and critical thinking skills
