Job Description
The Performance Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development and execution of automated performance, load, spike, stress and stability test cases as part of the feature and functional test activities for web sites, mobile, middle tier services and other software applications. He / She will interact and collaborate primarily with QA members of various scrum teams, as well as Engineering and Product to develop test strategies. All test and debug activities will be executed according to PI planning and commitments, while adhering to defined quality requirements and reported through established tracking tools and systems. Should understand End to End performance test process, ability to monitor, analyze and report performance test findings.
Additional Responsibilities of the (Performance Test Engineer):
Responsible for developing and executing Performance test scripts, plans and strategy to ensure the delivery of quality software applications
Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability
Thorough Understanding the non-functional requirements from business and infrastructure
Responsible for Test Planning, Test Estimation, Test Strategy, Work Load Design, Test Cases Design, Test Environment Setup, Test Data Setup, Defect Management & Configuration Management
Execute Benchmark, load, stress, endurance and other non-functional tests. Monitor application logs to determine system behavior
Analyze the CPU Utilization, Memory usage, Network usage, Garbage Collection and DB Parameters and DB Reports to verify the performance of the applications
Identifying memory leakage, connection issues & Bottleneck problems in the application
Generate performance graphs, session reports and other related documentation required for validation and analysis
Required Qualifications
5+ Years of experience in Performance Testing
3+ Years of experience in Performance Testing tools using JMeter or Gatling and Micro Focus Performance Center / LoadRunner
2+ Years of experience on REST API and Web Services performance testing
2+ Years of experience in developing both server side and UI side performance testing frameworks
Any experience on Continuous integration with Performance Testing
Preferred Qualifications
Entry level expertise of programming knowledge in Java or .Net C
Experience in reviewing proposed design and infrastructure
Provide recommendation on performance and reliability enhancements
Expertise in troubleshooting end-to-end system bottlenecks
Identify performance hotspots in triages and experience with root cause analysis
Instrument application code using profiling tools like Dynatrace, Wily Introscope, Jprofiler and Collect deep diagnostics to measure function level execution cost in terms of CPU, memory, disk and network I/O
Gather JVM Heap Dumps and Thread dumps to analyze concurrent executions and call stack. Navigate through the Java object reference graphs in heap dumps and identify Memory leaks, loitering objects, large object allocations, Over allocation of short-lived objects etc.
Education
Bachelors degree or Related diplomas of IT/Engineering
