Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Mid-level Geologist for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military munitions response and environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.

A minimum of 4+ years experience response and environmental investigations and through site clean-up and closure. Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

* Project and task management, client interaction, proposal writing, cost estimating, remedial systems design, overseeing implementation/construction of remedial actions, technical report writing, and mentoring.

* Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel.

* Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

* Anticipated division of job-related tasks is about a 90/10 percent split between office and field work.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

Minimum Requirements

* BA/BS degree in Geology or Science & 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education

* US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites

* Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations

* Ability to travel at least 10% of the time

* Must successfully pass preemployment background check and drug screening

* Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters Degree in Geology or related discipline.

* 4+ years of experience within the consulting industry, demonstrating technical leadership in conducting remedial investigations and design.

* Experienced with environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.

* Possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination

* Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.

* Experience using ArcGIS and generating maps and report figures

* Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.

* Knowledgeable and experience working on State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulation

* Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.

* Field work will be required, including oversight of subcontractors.

* Able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
