The PPS organization works collaboratively and strategically with colleagues across the product lifecycle to identify, evaluate, understand, and communicate the safety profile of AbbVie products to protect patients worldwide.
The Safety Sciences team plays a critical role in evaluating safety data relevant to AbbVie. The team is a high-profile and high-impact team of physicians and other health care professionals that works in close collaboration with a broad range of cross-functional colleagues across the company. The team works collaboratively to provide product data analysis, signal monitoring and product insights so that together as a team, the Product Safety Team can implement appropriate actions to ensure patient safety.
Activities performed under this team:
* Assisting with ongoing continuous improvement projects spanning across departmental needs
* Providing support for training and drive strategic goals of safety advisory committees
* Support safety activities and actively participate in at least one advisory group and will lead the analysis and interpretation of a safety issue
* Complete literature review and evaluate published literature in the context of rates of safety events of interest in patients with conditions of interest
* Support and lead efforts such as enhancement of risk minimization activities and the benefit-risk portfolio

Qualifications
Desired Skills: Database management, experience with statistical and visualization software
* 3.0 minimum GPA
* Open to all majors
* Returning to university for at least one semester and graduating within one-year post internship

* Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)
* Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
