Position Overview

As a Solution Architect, work productively with Consultants, Product Architects, Program/Project Managers, and other internal & external interfaces to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives. As a specialist resource, this individual is responsible for consulting, advising, recommending, designing, and where appropriate deploying, specific technical solutions based on product knowledge and industry best practices in the Consumer Products and Retail area in order for the Siemens PLM Software solution to be delivered successfully and provide value to the customer. This position also works with Product Development in the creation of the product roadmap and influence the design of new product functionality.

Responsibilities

In line with program & project processes and messaging, interact with the customer to support the management of customer expectations and support customer adoption. Acts as trusted advisor to Sales, PreSales and Services project teams providing guidance through the complexity of solution options while leverage key experiences in the Consumer Products & Retail area. Where appropriate, act as trusted advisor to the customer on the long-term roadmap for the use of Opcenter RD&L. Consults on highly complex projects/assignments of diverse scope that require industry expertise in Specification & Formula Management. Works under self-management within project and/ or task constraints and will determine solutions, methods and procedures on assignments/projects. Where required lead the 9 elements of the PLM deployment framework Where required, act as project technical work stream lead for specific project work streams on large programs/projects requiring a full time specialist resource, and support project management activities such as estimating, work package breakdown and project planning and monitoring, where required. Supports complex projects on dedicated product related experts topics typically for a limited timeline. May undertake some people management activities for a team as applicable. Acts as leading member of Zone Community of Practice for Opcenter RD&L knowledge, primarily within the Consumer Products & Retail area, promoting adoption within the Zone and ensuring that knowledge and lessons learned are shared across country and/or organization boundaries.

Leverage relevant best practices and templates in the leadership of project solutions in own specialist area across the Zone, and significantly contribute to the definition and maintenance of best practices and curates templates in own area of specialism, providing experiences to support continual improvement.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in the Formulated Products industry with emphasis on Specification Management and Formula Management.
* An understanding of related systems such as ERP and PLM.
* Demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices regarding product lifecycle management.
* At least 5 years of experience in specialty software configuration and deployment.
* Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
* Fluent in English
* Able and willing to travel 25-50% of the time

* Working knowledge of the Opcenter RD&L product line
* Working knowledge of SQL and VB.NET
