Job Purpose:

The Contract Manager will administer, extend, negotiate standard and nonstandard contracts as well as be self-motivated and have the ability to handle urgent situations. This position will require a candidate who can positively influence team members in order to maximize their efforts toward achieving program goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide overall contract management, including review, drafting, negotiation, flow-down and interpretation of terms and conditions, and other contract documents
* Identify and mitigate risks connected with non-standard conditions proposed in contractual documents
* Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures applicable to contracting and contract management
* Serve as a point of contact for resolving and escalation of complex and non-routine contract issues
* Responsible for correspondence with the customer regarding all contractual issues, and resolving open issues.
* Responsible for contract closeout

Education and experience:

Bachelors Degree and 5+ years experience in the field of federal government contract management.

Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).

Communication excellent critical thinking, writing, and editing skills; strong interpersonal skills

Customer Focus (may be internal or external) Ability to foster teamwork; high level of overall objectivity ; able to communicate to and manage cross functional teams

Problem Solving Able to analyze situations and requirements without previous similar experience, and be able to plan a successful way forward; provide sound judgement; ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources

Job specific skills Must be well versed in negotiating and administration and compliance with Federal DoD prime/subcontracts in the defense aerospace industry

Leadership Observe, coach, and mentor contract team to applicable regulations; be a role model for diversity and inclusion by seeking out and including diverse opinions and perspectives

Innovation Lead a team effort to improve business processes by removing waste and improve output quality.

Organization/Project Management Demonstrate organizational and time management skills in dealing with competing priorities, deadlines, and in handling multiple tasks.

Normal office environment. Ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.
