Responsibilities
The Manager, Transportation is responsible for the implementation, execution and ongoing oversight of the transportation strategy with regard to achieving the desired level of service, quality and cost established for the company and market for which they manage. Accountable for improving quality and reducing cost in support of supply chain mission. This position provides management oversight for outsourced transportation providers and as required, attends and represents the supply chain in customer meetings. Specific responsibilities include: day-to-day management of 3PL providers including the review and approval of payments for services; evaluation of routing criteria; reducing cycle time and cycle time variability with inbound & outbound deliveries and meeting or exceeding the service metrics established for the market.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred and requires 7 - 10 years experience with Transportation, Logistics, Warehouse Supervision or Supply Chain analytics. Must have ability to communicate, persuade and influence others as well as the ability to present data in a concise and proficient manner.
