The Sr. Manager, Machine Learning (Marketing & Value) will be a key leader within the Data Science organization. We are seeking an experienced leader that has hands-on experience leading, growing, and managing a data science team with proven experience driving top and bottom-line growth within multiple marketing channels. This leader should have hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, and understand how to effectively deploy these algorithms within real-time and batch nudges, notifications, and dynamic consumer experiences.

This leader should have a keen eye for understanding the why behind a business problem, and be able to connect and prescribe technical approaches to help our product, engineering, and marketing teams to develop amazing consumer experiences that drive lasting impact to both our consumers satisfaction, but realtor.coms profitability.

A successful candidate will have experience taking data science and machine learning algorithms from ideation & conception to large-scale deployments, preferably in a tech-forward industry. They should be maniacal about the consumer--and understand how to leverage first and third-party data to comprehensively influence consumer journeys.

What will you do?

Responsibilities

* Be a leader of a talented, experienced, and growing team of machine learning engineers and data scientists
* Collaborate with colleagues throughout the product, marketing, and engineering teams to define problem-sets, derive solutions, and take ideas from conception through deployment

* Provide hands-on, tactical technical leadership to a team of up to 10 data scientists

* Continuously improve methodologies through constant innovation

* Participate in defining the strategic direction and roadmap for the Machine Learning group and assist in formulating the growth strategy for the company

* Plan, research and develop ML/data products from ideation through development and deployment as well as communication of results and performance to leadership

What will you bring?

Requirements

* Proven track record of building a framework for model generation at scale in the Marketing field
* 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning or a related field

* 5+ years of experience leading and managing a team

* Educational background in the field of Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Information Sciences or a quantitative-related field

* Experience in overseeing data science projects at all stages, from initial conception to implementation and optimization

* Deep understanding of machine learning, statistical modeling and data mining techniques including supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, etc.

* Understanding of experimental design and A/B testing

* Experience working with big data platforms and AWS technologies

* Experience working with relational SQL and NoSQL databases

* Familiar with ML and statistical modeling tools such as Python, R, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

* Good programming skills using analytics-oriented languages such as Python, R and Scala
* Ability to partner with executives, product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into product roadmaps

* Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience

* A creative problem solver with passion, energy and enthusiasm to drive meaningful and transformational change
