Our Territory Representatives interact face to face with our customers, understand their needs and consult to offer the right solutions. We work collaboratively in Field Sales Teams and play a critical role in supporting our customer centric business model.
This professional services veterinarian will primarily function to support the technical needs of the corporate and strategic accounts team and their customers. In doing so, this individual will interact with accounts on a technical level, giving presentations across the USA, and train the corporate and strategic accounts team on the use of technical data to facilitate the growth of long-term relationships as well as sales opportunities of our company's Animal Health portfolio and services across their entire line of business. This individual should have a broad knowledge of the animal health industry, from a scientific and business perspective, and familiarity with the corporate account management needs and processes. The individual will work with our company's Animal Health Companion Animal Professional Services Team on a variety of projects such as the preparation of presentations, training of the sales force, and serve in a technical capacity on marketing brand teams.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Serve as the corporate and key accounts team technical expert, evaluating the teams technical training needs and coaching in technical selling skills
* Participate in technical discussions and meetings with the corporate account managers
* Prepare and deliver technical presentations on our company's Animal Health portfolio and services to corporate and key accounts
* Execute key strategies and tactics to accelerate sales within assigned accounts utilizing all available resources
* Gather and clearly communicate market intelligence to Corporate and Strategic Account Team Management, Marketing, and Veterinary Professional Services colleagues
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts by presenting our company's Animal Health product/services information and business solutions to Executive Level and mid-level account leadership to support their business needs
* Develop a deep understanding of account needs and communicate that information to our company's Animal Health Sales, Marketing, and Veterinary Professional Services leadership
* Partner on the development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies within assigned accounts and communicate strategies to our company's Animal Health Sales, Marketing, and Veterinary Professional Services leadership
* Meet with all levels of corporate account leadership to discuss potential new business opportunities
* Represent our company's Animal Health at Veterinary Schools, Professional Veterinary Associations and Conferences
* Execute responsibilities with a high degree of independence
* Live near a major airport
* Travel: 70% travel
Education Minimum Requirement:
* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree
* Current license to practice veterinary medicine within the United States
Required Experience and Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with minimum of 2 years of veterinary professional services/industry experience or veterinary experience within corporate practices
* Relevant experience includes any of the following:
* Private practice; companion animal
* Technical Services
* Specialty practice
* Other industry/Research
* Strong working knowledge of group purchasing organizations within the Animal Health Industry
* Ability to work collaboratively across all species groups, coordinating activities, leveraging resources and knowledge of accounts to identify opportunities/solutions to resolve customer issues and drive results
* Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
* Competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
* Practical and industrial experience
* Demonstrated self-motivation
* Ability to work independently
Preferred Experience and Skills:
* Demonstrated ability to cultivate networks and relationships across functions and other organizational boundaries with internal and external business partners
* Demonstrated understanding of positions contribution to the business goals and willingness to adopt changes to current processes, identifying emerging needs and participating in defining innovative solutions to meet corporate account needs from a customer centric perspective
* Board Certification in a relevant veterinary specialty and other advanced degrees (PhD, MBA, MPH)
