The Nurse Technician assumes primary responsibility and accountability for the secretarial duties, equipment cleaning and supply restocking and communication systems for a designated time frame for the Emergency Department. The secretarial duties include, but are not limited to transcribing physician orders, using the computer order system, maintaining the patients medical record, ordering supplies and greeting the public. The Nurse Technician provides non-professional nursing duties appropriate for the age of the patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and hospital/department of nursing policies.
Job Requirements
Currently listed as Nurse Assistant I at the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services with no substantiated findings. BCLS certification required. Documented secretarial and Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
